Lead Conservation Efforts

Are you passionate about the outdoors and ready to lead hands-on conservation efforts?

Get Outside Alliance is looking for Conservation Captains to guide volunteer teams in meaningful projects across Texas State Parks.

As a Conservation Captain, you’ll play a key role in improving local parks, ensuring that every project runs smoothly while gaining leadership experience and getting paid for your efforts.

As a Conservation Captain, you’ll:

  • Lead volunteer teams during weekend projects in at your preferred parks nearest you.

  • Gain leadership skills while guiding impactful conservation projects.

  • Get paid for your time and effort in a role that combines purpose with leadership.


Earn While Leading Conservation Projects

Conservation Captains received a $200 stipend for each project that they choose to lead.

Each event lasts about 6 hours in total, including prep and clean-up.

You’ll have the flexibility to choose from available Saturday or Sunday projects, posted on our internal portal, making it easy to sign up for events that fit your schedule.


How to Join the Team

To become a Conservation Captain, candidates will:

  • Complete an initial interview to assess leadership potential.

  • Undergo a comprehensive training program in leadership, safety, and conservation methods.

  • Select your preferred parks most convenient for you to choose from.

Professional, Prepared, and Safe Leadership

Our projects are designed to be safe, smooth, and efficient. All events take place on Saturday or Sunday mornings from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

As a Conservation Captain, you’ll be fully prepared, with all tools, supplies, and meals provided by Get Outside Alliance, ensuring that you and your volunteers have everything needed for a successful event.

Captains are thoroughly trained and background-checked to maintain a safe and professional environment for all participants.
