Our Impact Through Stories

Our work is more than numbers—it’s about the people and the stories that make an impact on Texas' natural habitats.

Through our partnerships with Texas State Parks and the dedication of our volunteers, we’ve created lasting change in parks across the state.

Here are a few stories that showcase how our volunteers, partners, and communities are making a difference.

Restoring Coastal Habitat at Galveston Island State Park

September 29, 2024

Our volunteers joined forces Texas Conservation Alliance and the Houston Zoo, along with the park staff at Galveston Island State Park.

With about 40 volunteers, we were able to help plant 1,037 native plants, representing 15 species, along half an acre of coastal prairie.

This project played a key role in preserving the unique coastal ecosystem that is so vital to the area’s biodiversity.

This was such a great event, I loved being able to get out and help Texas Parks & Wildlife.

Restoring Trails at Brazos Bend State Park

September 7, 2024

Our volunteers worked alongside park staff at Brazos Bend State Park to restore sections of the 1.4 miles of Red Buckeye trail.

This project focused on removing debris and trash left behind by Hurricane Beryl that blocked access to the trail.

Our family of 3 had a great time giving back to a park that has given us hours and hours of beautiful memories.

Each of these projects is a testament to the power of community-driven conservation.

From restoring native habitats to improving trails, our volunteers are the heart of our mission.

Their stories reflect the lasting impact that hands-on work can have on both our parks and the people who help preserve them.
