Get Outside Alliance is growing—and we’re inviting dedicated volunteers to take a leadership role in shaping our next chapter. Our work focuses on community-powered conservation, organizing volunteer projects in partnership with Texas State Parks and other public lands. These leadership roles are designed for individuals who are eager to take action, build community, and help us expand our reach and impact across Texas.


What You’ll Do

Volunteer leaders help guide the strategy, outreach, and internal operations of Get Outside Alliance. You’ll work closely with our team to support park partnerships, host events, manage gear, and build stronger systems to help our mission thrive. Whether you're leading a committee call or planning our next group volunteer day, you’ll be an essential part of the work that keeps us growing.


Time Commitment

  • Monthly 1-hour committee meeting

  • Quarterly 1-hour board update

  • 3–10 hours per month of flexible volunteer time

  • All roles run through June 2026

Resource Strategy & Fundraising

This team ensures Get Outside Alliance has the tools, funding, and infrastructure to make our mission a success. From tracking inventory to growing our grant program, this unit manages the behind-the-scenes operations that power every volunteer project.

Roles Available:

Chief of Fundraising & Grants

This role helps power our mission by finding and securing funding from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. You’ll assist with donor communications, sponsorship outreach, and identifying grant opportunities that align with our values and programs. Your work helps us say “yes” to more projects, support more parks, and remove barriers for more volunteers.

Chief of Finance & Budgeting

As the steward of our financial clarity, you’ll work closely with leadership to monitor spending, track revenue, and support quarterly budgeting. Your insights will shape the decisions we make as we grow, helping us stay sustainable and transparent. You’ll provide snapshots of our financial health for board updates and support grant or partner reports.

Chief of Inventory Management

Our volunteers rely on tools, gloves, and gear to do impactful work. Your job is to track what we have, what we need, and where everything is going. You’ll help coordinate supply restocking and gear prep, ensuring every project is safe, effective, and fully equipped. Your work directly enables hands-on conservation to happen week after week.

Director of Resource Strategy (Chair Role)

You’ll lead the overall coordination of the Resource Strategy unit, managing the team’s monthly calls and serving as the main liaison with our Executive Director and Board. Your job is to ensure alignment across fundraising, budgeting, and gear management so that every part of our organization is resourced and ready. You’ll guide reporting, problem-solving, and planning for all related functions.


Community Outreach & Programs

This team focuses on growing our partnerships with state parks, improving the volunteer experience, and creating fun, inclusive events that build our community.

Roles Available:

Chief of Park & Partner Relations

You’ll help us deepen our ties with Texas State Parks staff, schools, and other nonprofits by identifying new partnership opportunities and maintaining regular communication. Your work helps us scale our impact by building trust with those who help make our projects possible.

Chief of Events & Socials

Community is built one gathering at a time. This role helps coordinate volunteer socials, group events, and special meetups across the year. You’ll collaborate with other leaders to plan welcoming, fun, and well-organized experiences that help volunteers feel connected and appreciated.

Chief of Volunteer Experience

You’ll focus on what it feels like to volunteer with us—from sign-up to project day to follow-up. Your role is to improve clarity, communication, and recognition for every volunteer. You’ll help ensure we’re removing barriers, keeping people informed, and building positive, inclusive experiences that keep volunteers coming back.

Director of Community Engagement (Chair Role)

You’ll lead the strategic coordination of the Community Outreach unit and ensure that our public-facing work stays mission-aligned, welcoming, and effective. You’ll host monthly calls with your team, collaborate with other chairs and staff, and track efforts across events, park partnerships, and volunteer feedback.
