Parks for All Campaign

Help Us Complete the Accessibility Transformation at Purtis Creek State Park

We’ve already built new accessible campsites and trails — now we’re finishing the job with an ADA-enhanced dock and the park’s first trail to reach it.

Parks for All: The Purtis Creek Transformation

Parks for All is Get Outside Alliance’s pilot campaign to make Texas State Parks more accessible — starting with Purtis Creek.

Since January 2025, volunteers have built 4 new wheelchair-accessible campsites and 2 stabilized trails. The final phase includes enhancing the existing dock with ADA features and constructing the first wheelchair-accessible trail to the water.

This project is a model for future accessibility efforts across all 88 Texas State Parks.
