Event Description

Join us as we continue our Parks for All campaign at Purtis Creek State Park! Our volunteers will assist in creating a universally accessible park for all.

In this project, we’ll begin rebuilding a trailway that will be properly leveled and preserved to allow those with mobility limitations to enjoy the great outdoors!

Event Details:

Who can participate: Open to all ages.
Provided: Shovels and rakes, gloves, and guidance from park staff.
Recommended: Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, long sleeves, and bring a water bottle.

Volunteer Agreement

I agree to volunteer with the Get Outside Alliance (GOA) at the event specified above, under the following terms and conditions: Compliance with Guidelines: I agree to follow all instructions and objectives laid out by Get Outside Alliance leadership and Texas State Parks staff during the volunteer event. I understand the importance of cooperating with GOA leaders and state park staff to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely. Volunteer Participation: I acknowledge that participation in volunteer activities is based on my consent and willingness to contribute without any monetary compensation. My participation is a voluntary effort to support the GOA's mission and activities within the community and state parks.

Volunteer Waiver

Assumption of Risk: I understand that participation in GOA activities involves certain risks, including, but not limited to, physical injury, emotional distress, or even death from various causes such as slips, falls, and accidents. I am fully aware of these risks and hereby assume all risk of injury, harm, damage, or death in connection with my participation in any volunteer event organized by GOA. Release of Liability: I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Get Outside Alliance, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and successors from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may be sustained by me, or to any property belonging to me, while participating in such activity, or while on premises where the event is taking place. Medical Treatment: I give permission for GOA representatives to provide emergency medical treatment or to take me to a healthcare facility if necessary. I agree to be financially responsible for any medical bills incurred as a result of medical treatment during my volunteer activities. Photography and Videography Release Consent to Use Images: I understand that during GOA events, I may be photographed or recorded. I agree to allow my photo, video, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the Get Outside Alliance, including promotional materials and social media postings, without compensation to me. Volunteer Behavior: I agree to conduct myself in a manner that is conducive to a safe, productive, and respectful environment. I understand that if I fail to follow GOA's guidelines, act recklessly, cause harm, or put others at risk, I can be dismissed from the event and future activities. Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver and release and fully understand its terms. I acknowledge that I am signing this agreement freely and voluntarily, and intend by my signature for this to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law. Confirmation of Agreement and Digital Signature: By typing my full name and providing my email address below, I confirm that I have read and fully understood the terms and conditions of the Volunteer Agreement and Volunteer Waiver associated with the Get Outside Alliance (GOA) volunteering event. I recognize that this digital signature constitutes a legal signature confirming that I acknowledge and agree to the above Terms of Agreement and Release of Liability.
