This will be the FIRST event in our GOA @ Garner series! As with many of our parks, there are extensive maintenance and upkeep that the staff needs help with. Our mission is to help Garner State Park with their revitalization efforts.
For this weekend event, we will be assisting in repainting cabins and shelters, as well as replacing signs around the day use areas and trails.
The park is providing us with campsites on what will be a fully booked weekend so that our volunteers can stay and enjoy the park while we help. This will be a great opportunity to not just help an iconic park, but also to get outside and enjoy it as well!
In between project hours, we will be organizing activities for our volunteers. More info to come as we get closer to the date.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided throughout the weekend, as well as basic supplies like water and sunscreen for our volunteers.
Screened shelters and lodges MAY be available on request, but we plan on tent camping over this weekend. We will try to provide assistance in camping gear if needed, but supplies is limited!
