50 Projects, One Mission: Celebrating a Milestone in the Dirt

On October 26th, 2024, we hosted our 50th volunteer project — a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come, how deep our roots have grown, and just how much further we plan to go.

We began this journey with a humble goal: four volunteer projects a year. We didn’t know much about parks, conservation priorities, or running a nonprofit — just that we cared deeply about protecting the natural spaces that define Texas. Fast forward two and a half years, and we’re celebrating 50 projects completed across the state. This milestone took us to Cedar Hill State Park — our first project in the Dallas area — where 18 volunteers rolled up their sleeves to remove invasive plants along a popular trail. The day ended with barbecue, laughter, and reflection. This wasn’t just a celebration of one day’s work — it was a testament to the power of people, persistence, and purpose. Here’s to the next 50.
