Goose Island State Park

Join us as we return to Goose Island State Park to continue our efforts to remove an invasive plant that has found its way into the park. We’ll be focusing our efforts around The Big Tree, one of the largest live oak trees in the nation.

Our team will be camping out both Friday night and Saturday night. Our volunteers will have free access to our campsites so come out and enjoy a campfire under the stars after a long day of volunteering!

  • Tools and protective gear provided

  • Water, sodas and sports drinks provided

  • Lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday, October 14

Due to the potential hazards of working with sharp tools and rugged terrain, we ask that you leave the young ones at home. This event will be suited for teenagers and up, and will count towards school volunteer hours.

We will have a covered canopy with chairs as a rest station for our volunteers.

Final event details and meeting area will be emailed from contact@getoutsidealliance.org on Sunday, October 7.

Donations help us provide supplies to our volunteers so they can keep helping our parks!
