Join us for one of our biggest volunteer events of the year — the 15th Annual Prairie Plant-a-thon at Sheldon Lake State Park!
On Saturday, November 1 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, we’ll be working to restore what was once farmland back into thriving native coastal prairie habitat.
Our collective goal this year: plant between 1,000 and 2,000 native prairie plants grown right in the park’s nursery. Every plant put into the ground helps re-establish the diverse ecosystem that once defined this landscape and supports wildlife for generations to come.
🛠️ You’ll be part of:
Digging and planting 1-gallon native prairie plants in restoration areas
Supporting biodiversity and habitat recovery efforts
Learning about native species and conservation from park staff
