2023 Green Vest Give Back | Huntsville State Park

On January 8, 2023, we kicked off our very first Green Vest Giveback — a small gesture with a big heart, recognizing the incredible staff at Huntsville State Park who helped Get Outside Alliance find its footing.

Huntsville State Park wasn’t just the site of our first-ever volunteer project — it was the park that took a chance on us. As a new nonprofit, we had a lot to learn, and the staff there welcomed us with open arms, helping us grow through each returning project. Throughout 2022, we came back to Huntsville again and again, each time deepening the bond between our volunteers and the people who make these parks possible. So to show our gratitude, we returned not with tools and work gloves, but with handwritten cards, small gift boxes, and snacks — one for every staff member. Because while we may show up on weekends, they show up every day to keep these natural spaces open, safe, and beautiful for all of us. And that deserves more than thanks — it deserves celebration.
